What defines the perfect t-shirt for you?
Like finding the perfect pair of jeans, the perfect tee is a closet staple that's all too elusive for some. My idea of the perfect t-shirt is a simple, solid colored top that drapes in the "right" spots. It's versatile, humble and sleek — a piece that's easy to dress up or play down.
I wear t-shirts more days during the week than not. I mean, I've got a whole drawer full of basic t-shirts and long sleeve tops in every neutral color under the sun. They're incredibly easy to throw on in the morning before work under a blazer with a pencil skirt or with tapered trousers and wedges. I usually keep my office outfits relatively simple, but sometimes I'll opt to spice up the neckline with a simple necklace before running out the door.
At just under $10, I can't get enough of this t-shirt. It comes in a handful of colors, too. But, I'll say, it's not the best quality piece I've ever owned — I know I'm always touting quality over quantity, but I'm just not willing to spend a fortune on a luxe t-shirt. Whenever I wear one out, I just pop into H&M and pick up a new one because at this price point, why not?
From workwear to the weekend, a good t-shirt really puts in overtime. On weekends, I often opt for more laid back looks, like this simple, neutral ensemble I wore recently. It was perfect for a casual day running errands and exploring the city. You could easily swap out the booties for a pair of city sneakers (this Converse pair is my favorite!) or lace up flats for a totally different feel.
