If you follow me on
Instagram, you may have noticed that I spent the weekend in Washington, D.C. I'll be all moved out, settled into my new home and starting my new job on the East coast within the next couple of weeks! I spent the weekend playing tourist in my new city - visiting the Capitol, the National Mall and the U.S. Botanic Garden. I also learned how to perform some essential functions, like figuring out how to ride the metro, navigate my neighborhood and explore around my new office.

I stayed at the cutest little Air bnb on Capitol Hill. It was conveniently located steps from the metro and situated on the most quaint street. One of the days I met up with some friends for brunch at
The Coupe (the food was great - as for the service, not so much). I spent that afternoon exploring Georgetown (
obsessed) and stopped by
Olivia Macaron for a midday treat. I love macarons and I'm really excited they seem to be plentiful in the District!
I'm excited to really be able to play tourist after I move - this weekend was rushed (between finding an apartment, learning how to ride the metro, meeting up with friends) so I wasn't able to see many of the "go-to" attractions. Touring the White House and visiting the National Archives are next on my list. My best friend from high school will be coming out to visit at the end of the month so I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities then to continue exploring the city!
